When you think of Tom Jones and Elvis Presley, you picture two towering icons of music – each with their own distinct sound and magnetic stage presence. But few people know that these two legends not only shared a deep friendship, they also once… sang together – though it was never officially recorded or released.

Their friendship began in the mid-1960s, shortly after Tom’s breakout hit “It’s Not Unusual.” Elvis, impressed by Tom’s powerhouse vocals and showmanship, reached out and invited him to Graceland. From there, their bond grew – meeting often in Las Vegas, they would share backstage moments, jam with musicians, and occasionally duet behind closed doors.

One of the most memorable – yet undocumented – duets took place at the Hilton Hotel in 1970. According to those who were there, the two legends joined voices on “Green, Green Grass of Home,” blending Elvis’s Southern rock tone with Tom’s dramatic delivery. As one band member recalled: “The room just stopped. No mics, no audience. Just two legends, one guitar, and total reverence.”

Though no official recording exists, these behind-the-scenes sessions remain the stuff of musical folklore – a lost treasure for fans who can only imagine the power of those two voices intertwined.
