While Tina Turner is remembered as a powerful icon of strength and resilience, her private life bore a sorrow that fame could never erase—the loss of two of her sons, each under heartbreaking circumstances.
In 2018, Tina’s eldest son, Craig Raymond Turner, tragically took his own life at the age of 59. Craig was the child of Tina and musician Raymond Hill, and was later adopted by Ike Turner when Tina married him.
According to Tina, Craig was quiet, bright, and deeply private. His suicide shocked the world—and shattered Tina. In a rare social media post, she shared a photo of herself scattering his ashes at sea, captioned: “My saddest moment as a mother.”
As if that pain wasn’t enough, in 2022, her younger son Ronnie Turner passed away after a long battle with cancer. Ronnie, her only biological child with Ike Turner, had pursued music but led a relatively low-profile life. Though their relationship had its ups and downs, Tina was by his side at the end. She later wrote: “Ronnie, you left the world far too early.”
After the double heartbreak, Tina withdrew from public life, choosing peace and privacy in Switzerland, where she lived until her death in 2023.
Behind the global superstar known for her fire and energy was a mother who carried immeasurable grief. The stories of Craig and Ronnie are a deeply human chapter of Tina’s life—one filled with sorrow, silence, and enduring love.
