Shania Twain has always been known for her chart-topping music and magnetic stage presence, but now she’s doing something no one expected. In a brand-new commercial for Clearly Canadian sparkling spring water, the country-pop icon is shown backflipping off a mountain in the Canadian wilderness. That’s right—Shania Twain, at nearly 60, pulling off a stunt more often seen in extreme sports ads, not music legends.
The ad, directed by Ryan Reynolds’ Maximum Effort, marks Clearly Canadian’s first commercial in 34 years. It opens with Shania trekking through dense forests on her quest to find the iconic beverage, reminiscent of her 1997 anthem “That Don’t Impress Me Much.” Then, as she reaches a mountaintop, she takes a confident run and executes a flawless backflip, celebrating the drink’s return with her signature line: “It’s still the one.”
Fans were stunned. Many said they never imagined seeing Shania in such a daring role. Yet the commercial is more than publicity—it’s a window into her spirit. In behind-the-scenes interviews she admitted loving the adrenaline and the nostalgia of retracing memories tied to the drink. She called the experience “a joyful reminder of my childhood,” and emphasized that she’s “still the one” ready for new challenges.
This isn’t the only wave Shania is making lately. She just donated $25,000 through her foundation to the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York—enough to provide about 100,000 meals ahead of her upcoming concert at Saratoga Performing Arts Center. She’s pledged similar donations in every city she performs during her North American tour.
Meanwhile, her 2024–25 Las Vegas residency, Come On Over – All The Hits, drew rave reviews and prompted her to add summer 2025 tour dates across major U.S. cities. Her return to the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury in June also reminded fans she’s far from retired—as younger artists like Shaboozey acknowledge her influence in recent interviews.
Shania Twain is often seen as a role model for empowerment. Her new commercial reminds us she’s not just a singer, but a bold personality unafraid to dive into the unknown. Whether she’s backflipping off cliffs or topping charitable leaderboards, she refuses to stay comfortable. As she herself put it: “I’ve always felt more in tune with myself than ever—strong, inspired and full of creative energy.”
Remember, this is the woman behind “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” and “You’re Still the One.” She’s still surprising us—and isn’t that the Shania we love?
