Thanks to a collaborative effort from the Mentor Alt East team and generous supporters, hospice patient Marty recently experienced a night she’ll never forget—attending Engelbert Humperdinck’s “Last Waltz Farewell Tour” at MGM Northfield Park.

A lifelong fan of the legendary singer, Marty was surprised with concert tickets, backstage passes, and a specially approved seat coordinated with the local fire marshal. It was all part of a well-orchestrated plan by her care team, family, and even Engelbert’s own crew to grant her a once-in-a-lifetime memory.

Accompanied by her son Larry and daughter-in-law Linda, Marty’s evening became truly unforgettable when Engelbert personally greeted her with a kiss on the cheek and offered a heartfelt prayer for her healing—a touching moment that brought tears to many eyes.

Special thanks go to HNA Christa Ward, who prepared Marty for the big surprise, and to Breckenridge Village for generously providing transportation.

In a gesture of gratitude and hope, Marty’s family donated $200 to the Special Care Fund to help bring smiles to other families facing similar journeys.

This heartwarming story captures the true spirit of hospice care: honoring lives, creating joy, and making every moment count.
