Lane Frost to Receive Texas Trail of Fame Star at Fort Worth Stockyards on Oct. 23
The Texas Trail of Fame will honor the late PRCA World Champion bull rider Lane Frost with a star along the sidewalk of the Fort Worth Stockyards on Thursday, October 23, 2025. This year’s Induction Ceremony & Dinner takes place at Billy Bob’s Texas (2520 Rodeo Plaza), with doors at 5:00 p.m. and the program beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Frost (Oct. 12, 1963 – July 30, 1989) remains one of rodeo’s most beloved figures. He captured the 1987 PRCA World Championship and was the only rider to make a qualified ride on Red Rock, the 1987 PRCA Bucking Bull of the Year. His story continues to inspire fans more than three decades after his passing.
Frost joins a 2025 class that includes Elaine Agather, Mrs. Ninnie L. Baird, Dan Blocker, Walt Garrison, U.S. Secretary Deb Haaland, Capt. John T. Lytle, Bobby Norris, Sancho, and Samuel H. Walker. The Texas Trail of Fame recognizes people and animals who have made significant contributions to Western heritage; bronze star markers are embedded throughout the Stockyards to honor each inductee.
