Beau LeDoux, the youngest son of the late rodeo champion and country music legend Chris LeDoux, has embraced his family’s cowboy heritage by pursuing careers in both rodeo and ranching.

Rodeo Career

Inspired by his father’s legacy, Beau became a professional bareback bronc rider. Although he never witnessed his father compete live, he was motivated by watching old rodeo tapes of Chris’s performances. He once remarked, “Shoot, anything he ever did, I wanted to do.”

Beau has participated in various rodeo events across the United States, including the Southeastern Livestock Exposition and Rodeo in Montgomery, Alabama. Despite facing challenges, such as drawing less favorable horses, he remains dedicated to the sport. He noted, “The biggest challenge the last few years is just drawing the right type of horse.”

In a poignant tribute to his father, Beau carried some of Chris’s ashes in his pocket during his rides at the 2007 Cheyenne Frontier Days rodeo, later scattering them in the arena a venue filled with family memories.

Ranching and Family Life

Beyond the rodeo arena, Beau is deeply involved in ranching. He assists in managing the family ranch in Kaycee, Wyoming, alongside his mother, Peggy. His commitment to the land and livestock reflects the values instilled by his father.

While Beau is the only one of his siblings to pursue rodeo, each has honored their father’s legacy in unique ways. His brother Ned LeDoux has followed in Chris’s musical footsteps, performing country music and keeping their father’s songs alive.

Beau LeDoux’s dedication to both rodeo and ranching embodies the spirit of the cowboy lifestyle that Chris LeDoux celebrated throughout his life.
