Legendary British singer Engelbert Humperdinck has opened up about the profound impact of losing his wife, Patricia, who passed away in February 2021 at the age of 85 after battling Alzheimer’s disease and contracting COVID-19.
In a heartfelt Facebook post, Humperdinck shared, “Our family is heartbroken over the loss of my darling wife. Last night, she slipped softly away, as if by God’s clockwork.”
The couple, who married in 1964, had four children together. Patricia had been battling Alzheimer’s for over a decade before her passing. Humperdinck expressed his vulnerability, stating, “After losing Patricia, I’ve felt so vulnerable and raw. Your whole thinking changes, your heart changes, your whole world changes.”
Despite his grief, Humperdinck has found solace in music. He released a new album titled All About Love on his 87th birthday, featuring renditions of classic love songs. He also continues to tour, dedicating performances to his late wife. “The only thing I want to do is get back on the road and sing. I want to work as much as I possibly can because I love getting the love from my fans. It gives me the will to live,” he said.
Humperdinck’s resilience and dedication to his craft serve as a testament to his enduring love for Patricia and his passion for music.
