Tina Turner bježala je od muža zlostavljača Ikea Turnera, nije imala ni cent, a od njega je dobila PTSP: 'To je bio loš život' | 24sataTina Turner, the electrifying queen of rock and soul, known for her explosive stage performances and unmistakable voice, once endured a private nightmare lasting 16 years — a story that remained hidden behind the spotlight for decades.

When Tina publicly shared that she had suffered years of domestic abuse at the hands of her ex-husband Ike Turner, the world was stunned. How could someone so powerful, so bold, also be a survivor of silent pain?

In her 1986 memoir “I, Tina” — later adapted into the acclaimed film “What’s Love Got to Do with It” — Tina detailed the physical beatings, emotional torment, and psychological manipulation she faced during their marriage. At one point, she even contemplated jumping off a hotel balcony, feeling utterly trapped.

But the abuse wasn’t only physical. Ike controlled everything — her career, her finances, and her identity. She had no creative freedom, no autonomy. He signed contracts for her, dictated performances, and reduced one of the greatest voices of her generation to silence offstage.

And yet, what made Tina legendary wasn’t just her music — it was her courage. After finally escaping the marriage, she walked away from everything: the homes, the wealth, the fame — and fought to keep one thing only: the name “Tina Turner.” “I paid for that name with my blood,” she once said.

In 1984, Tina launched her comeback with the album “Private Dancer.” The single “What’s Love Got to Do with It” soared to number one on Billboard, won Grammy Awards, and marked the triumphant return of a woman no longer in anyone’s shadow.

Today, Tina Turner’s story remains a beacon of strength and resilience, especially for women who have endured trauma, abuse, or emotional control. Her voice lives on — not just in music, but in every survivor who dares to stand tall and sing their own truth.
