Ned LeDoux Releases First-Ever Duet with Late Father Chris LeDoux

In a remarkable fusion of legacy and serendipity, country music fans are celebrating the release of “One Hand in the Riggin’,” a poignant duet between the late Chris LeDoux and his son, Ned LeDoux. This track, unveiled in December 2024, marks the first posthumous collaboration between the two, bringing together voices separated by time but united in spirit.

The song’s journey began in 2003 when Chris LeDoux recorded vocals for a track penned by songwriter Brenn Hill. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the recording was shelved and remained unheard for over two decades. In a twist of fate, Ned LeDoux reconnected with Hill at the Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada, where Hill revealed he still possessed the original vocal track. Recognizing the significance, they decided to transform it into a father-son duet.

Producer Mac McAnally played a pivotal role by integrating Chris’s vocals with Ned’s contemporary recordings, crafting a seamless blend that resonates with authenticity. The lyrics, reflecting the life of a rodeo cowboy balancing the rigors of the road and personal commitments, echo the experiences of both LeDouxs.

“One Hand in the Riggin'” stands as a testament to enduring bonds and the timeless nature of music. It’s not just a song but a bridge connecting past and present, father and son.
