Legendary pop icon Barry Manilow, known for timeless hits like Mandy, Copacabana, and Could It Be Magic, recently surprised fans with a touching revelation: he has become a grandfather.

At 80 years old, Manilow has achieved nearly everything an artist could dream of—global fame, a decades-long career, and a stable, long-lasting relationship with his husband Garry Kief. But becoming a grandfather? That caught even Barry off guard.

In a recent interview, the singer shared: “I never thought I’d be a grandpa. And now that I am—it’s incredible. I’ve never felt anything like this before.”

The child is the son of Kirsten Kief, Garry Kief’s daughter, whom Barry considers his own. Although there’s no biological tie, the bond is undeniably deep. “That baby is part of my family. I love him as if he were my own blood,” he said.

Barry also admitted he’s shifting parts of his busy schedule to be more present for his grandchild. “I want to be there for his first steps, his first words. I don’t want to miss a thing,” he added with genuine joy.

Fans reacted with heartfelt emotion, flooding social media with congratulations and admiration for the singer’s openness and warmth. His story has resonated widely, especially within the LGBTQ+ community, showing that love, family, and legacy come in many beautiful forms.

Barry is currently performing in his residency show “The Hits Come Home,” but now, his heart sings for more than just music—it beats for the joy of a new generation in his family.
