Barry Gibb: The Untold Regret Behind Robin Gibb’s Death
In a recent rare and emotional interview, Bee Gees legend Barry Gibb opened up about a painful regret he has carried for years – a haunting feeling that he could have done more to help his younger brother Robin Gibb, who passed away in 2012 after battling colorectal cancer.
“I could’ve done something differently,” Barry admitted. “I should’ve pushed him to rest more, to slow down. But back then, we all thought we were invincible.”
Robin was diagnosed in 2011, and despite undergoing intensive treatment, he lost the battle in May 2012. Barry recounted the heartbreaking moment when Robin no longer recognized him. “That’s when I knew I had lost him,” he recalled with tears in his eyes.
With Robin gone, and Maurice having passed in 2003, Barry became the last surviving Bee Gee. Since then, he has carried not only the emotional burden of loss but also the weight of preserving their musical legacy. “I don’t enjoy performing the way I used to. But I still sing – for Robin, for Maurice,” he said.
Barry’s candid revelation offers fans a deeply human glimpse into the private pain behind the glitz and fame. It is a reminder that even music legends carry wounds that fame cannot heal.
