David Cassidy Honored with Street Naming Ceremony in His Childhood Town
On July 30, 2025, fans and family of David Cassidy will gather in West Orange, New Jersey, to witness a heartfelt ceremony: a street will officially be renamed “David Cassidy Way.” This tribute marks the singer’s deep connection to the community where he spent his early years.
The local government shared that the decision to rename the street wasn’t just about fame—it was also about recognizing Cassidy’s impact on generations of fans and his contributions to music and entertainment history. The street is located near the neighborhood where Cassidy lived as a child.
“David brought joy to millions. Honoring him here reminds us that legends often come from the most familiar places,” said Mayor Susan McCartney.
Cassidy, who passed away in 2017 at the age of 67, was best known as the star of The Partridge Family and for hit songs like “I Think I Love You.” Despite a career full of ups and downs, his legacy continues to inspire.
The ceremony will include appearances by members of the Cassidy family, local officials, and dedicated fans. A small memorial display featuring photos, guitars, and rare memorabilia will also be set up near the renamed street.
